"Very excited to have the Timor-Leste back!! Love a washed coffee, especially on filter. If you want something juicy, bright and quaffable, get yourself a cup of this."

How Does The Coffee Perform In The Cup?

Expect a fresh, citrus-led aroma with gentle sweetness underneath. Pear and sweet lemon give the coffee a crisp, juicy acidity that’s bright without ever feeling sharp, whilst creamy nougat adds a smooth, rounded body. It stays beautifully balanced from hot to cold, finishing clean with a lingering sweetness that makes it an easy coffee to drink all day.

Why did we choose this coffee?

We chose this coffee because it reminds us that some of the most exciting discoveries in coffee aren’t always the loudest ones. Timor-Leste is still carving out its place within specialty coffee, and coffees like this show just how much potential the country has to offer.
Working with Karst Organics also means supporting a sourcing model built around long-term relationships rather than short-term buying. By helping producer groups improve quality year after year and paying stable, agreed prices throughout the harvest, they’re creating opportunities that benefit both today’s producers and the future of coffee in Timor-Leste. It’s exactly the kind of partnership we’re proud to stand behind.

Who produced this coffee?

This coffee was produced by the Samoro group, a collective of 11 coffee-growing families in Letefoho led by experienced producer Orlando Soares. Working closely with Karst Organics, the group has spent the past few years refining processing techniques and sharing knowledge across the community to achieve remarkable consistency and quality.
For us, Samoro represents everything that’s exciting about Timor-Leste today: talented producers, thoughtful partnerships and an origin that’s only just beginning to show the world what it’s can do.

Helping strengthen coffee’s future in Timor-Leste

For thousands of families in Timor-Leste, coffee represents far more than a morning ritual. It’s an important source of income, opportunity and long-term stability.

That’s why we’re supporting long-term work focused on helping coffee remain a livelihood worth investing in for future generations.

Packaging

Are your coffee bags compostable?

Our 250g coffee bags are made using compostable materials designed to break down in a well-managed home compost setup.

Our 1kg bags are currently recyclable LDPE4 plastic while we continue testing larger compostable alternatives durable enough for wholesale and larger-format coffee storage.

What if I don’t have a compost bin?

You’re definitely not alone. You can return your used bags to either our Roastery or Coffee Shop and we’ll make sure they’re properly processed through our waste partners. We know there’s currently no perfect packaging solution, but we’re committed to continually improving the systems and materials we use.

Can the bags be re-used?

Definitely. The zip-lock seals make them useful for storing everything from coffee and grains to snacks, cables or the random drawer bits everyone seems to accumulate somehow.
