NS* Impact Fund: A simple way to become part of the work happening behind your coffee.
At North Star, we've always believed buying great coffee is only part of the story.
For years, we've worked alongside producer partners overseas and organisations here in Yorkshire to support projects that create positive impact wherever our business has the opportunity to do so.
Until now, those opportunities have happened as they've arisen.
The North Star Impact Fund is a more intentional way of continuing that work.
Built through customer contributions and fundraising campaigns, it helps us support future projects while giving everyone who enjoys North Star the opportunity to become part of them too.
It isn't changing how we work. It's opening the door for more people to be part of it.
Where will your contribution go?
Every community faces different challenges, so every project will look a little different too. Rather than deciding exactly where every contribution will go in advance, the fund gives us the flexibility to support opportunities where we believe we can create the greatest long-term impact. That could include:
Helping coffee-growing communities thrive
Supporting projects that improve coffee quality, strengthen livelihoods and create long-term opportunities for the people growing our coffee.
Building climate resilience in coffee-growing communities
Supporting initiatives that help coffee-growing communities respond to the environmental challenges already affecting coffee production.
Supporting communities closer to home
Backing people-first and planet-conscious organisations here in Yorkshire because creating positive impact shouldn't stop at origin.
How can I get involved?
Donate with your online order: add a small donation at checkout or round up your order when buying coffee through our website.
Support fundraising coffees: some coffee releases, collaborations and seasonal campaigns will include a contribution to the fund as part of the purchase.
Donate in our coffee shops: when available, you'll be able to contribute while visiting one of our retail spaces.
Support community fundraising: we'll continue creating opportunities for our wholesale partners, cafés, events and collaborations to raise money for the fund too.

Is every purchase a donation?
No. There are a few different ways to support the Impact Fund throughout the year. Sometimes you'll be able to round up your order or make an optional donation, while some coffees, campaigns or collaborations will include a contribution as part of the purchase.
Can I make a donation without buying coffee?
Yes. You'll be able to make a standalone donation if you'd simply like to support the fund by using this link and checking out.
Where does the money go?
The fund supports projects focused on coffee-growing communities, climate resilience and people-first initiatives closer to home. Every project is selected because it builds on the long-term relationships we've developed across our supply chain and local community.
Who decides which projects receive funding?
Projects are selected by the North Star team, working alongside our producer partners and community organisations to ensure funding goes where we believe it can create meaningful, long-term impact.
How will I know what the money has been used for?
We'll publish regular updates showing how much has been raised, which projects have been supported and the progress they're making, so you can follow the impact over time.
Can businesses get involved?
