I have ordered from your online shop and have selected the Local Pickup option for collection, where do I come to collect my order??

Local pickups can be collected directly from the North Star Coffee Shop & General Store next door to our Roastery Unit 32, The Boulevard, Leeds Dock, LS10 1PZ. There is free parking parallel to The Boulevard on Chadwick St and we are open Mon-Fri from 7am-7pm, Sat from 9am-5pm and Sun 10am-4pm. Unfortunately we cannot deliver your order to a local customer for you to collect from.

How much does it cost to post my order??

For orders under 1kg in weight and under £30 in value, shipping is £3.50 which is for a standard First Service with the Royal Mail. For orders over 1kg in weight and under £30 in value, shipping is £6 with our next day signed for courier service. For orders over £30, shipping is free.

When can I expect to receive my order??

We post all online orders out on a Thursday using the Royal Mail First Class Service so if you have your order on time (by 12pm on a Wednesday), you can expect to receive it on the Friday.

How will my order be delivered??

For orders under one kilo in weight, we use the First Class Royal Mail service. Unfortunately our postal boxes won't through your letter box but you can specify a place for it to be left (e.g. in your porch/round the back/with a neighbour) in the notes section when ordering. For orders over one kilo, we use our courier which is a signed for next day service.

Do you have a café??

Yes we do! The North Star Coffee Shop & General Store opened up as our first ever retail space July 2017. It is right next door to our Roastery so you can see all the action through the sliding glass doors. We serve a range of single origin espressos and filter coffees and often feature exclusive micro lots that you won't be able to try elsewhere. For food, we have teamed up with Noisette, a creative micro bakery who produce a range of bespoke sweet and savoury bakes on site for our customers. There is a delicious breakfast and lunch menu and the occasional evening popup too. What else do you supply alongside coffee??

We also supply training, equipment, Storm Tea and Kokoa Collection hot chocolate.

What is the shelf life of your coffee??

All of our bags have a one-way valve which allows the coffee to release carbon dioxide but keeps oxygen out the bag which will stale the coffee. Once opened, we recommend roasted beans to be used within three months from the roast date (and within one month to enjoy them at their absolute best).

How should I store my coffee??

Once opened, your beans should be airtight (either in our 250g zip-lock bags or a seal-able container) and kept in cool, dry place. We do not recommend refrigerating your coffee as it will take in other aromas very easily and will go through extremes in temperature which will age it quicker.

What is your roast style??

At North Star we roast most of our coffees to what you would call a ‘medium’ level with some of single origins roasted light to medium. We do not have any ‘dark’ roast coffee but if you are looking for something with more of a chocolate/nutty flavour, we would recommend going for our Dark Arches Blend.
