This is a big and bold tea with great body and a deep malty flavour – it is a classic Assam tea and can be enjoyed black or with a slice of lemon or dash of milk.
Location: Jalinga Estate, Assam, India & Harrington Estate, Dimbula, Sri Lanka
Brew Proportions: 3-4g or 1 teaspoon per 250 mls water
Brew Temperature: 100 degrees C
Infusion Time:3 to 5 mins (we recommend 5 minutes for best results)
It is widely accepted that a Breakfast tea has to be full of flavour with substantial body and pleasant brightness. This tea is therefore a blend of black teas from two outstanding and organic estates which have been chosen to create a perfectly balanced blend with good flavour.
The first tea comes from one of the largest estates in Assam (Brahmaputra Valley, India) called the Jalinga Estate. As with other teas from this region, there are rich malty notes and heavy body which adds a lot of weight to the blend.
The perfect partner is therefore the lighter, brighter and more complex tea from the Harrington Estate in Dimbula, Sri Lanka. Here the tea is grown at altitudes of around 1500 metres above sea level and it really helps to lift the flavour adding some real character to this classic breakfast blend.
