This contemporary seasonal espresso blend is all about showcasing the very best coffees from the most recent harvests taking place throughout the year. With frequently changing components, it aims to promote seasonal coffees that are chosen for their interesting and fresh flavours.

Version 15 is sweet and rich with hints of blackberry, dark chocolate and a twist of orange oil – there are notes of vanilla and caramel in milk with hints of blackcurrant too bringing character and depth to what is a well balanced blend.

Czar Street is made up of the following components:

50% Rwanda Gitega

 Rwanda is a landlocked country in East Africa known as the land of a thousand hills thanks to its incredible terrain – as well as being very picturesque, it also provides the most perfect conditions for growing coffee and there are cooperatives servicing thousands of smallholder producers throughout the country. Gitega Hills is one of them and can be found in the south in the Nyamagabe District. It is a washing station owned by Bernard Uwitije who has lived in the area all of his life and has invested heavily equipping the station well with the best pulpers and fermentation tanks available. The result of all of this hard work and investment is coffee that is beautifully clean and consistent with incredible character and cup clarity.

The average altitude of land delivering cherry to this station is 1650 metres above sea level. This combined with the volcanic soil in the area are important factors in the quality of the processed coffee. There are approximately 165 families that deliver their cherry to the washing station. After delivery, the cherries are pulped, wet fermented and then sorted by density in grading channels. The wet parchment is then dried on raised beds for around 15 days before being prepared for export.

 50% Colombia Las Brisas

 Colombia as a coffee origin is a real pleasure to work with thanks to the numerous micro-climates throughout the country, we can pretty much buy freshly harvested coffee from the different regions all year round. We generally look to the southern departments of Huila, Cauca, Tolima and Nariño for our supply as we love the flavour profiles from these regions. This time, we have a freshly landed lot from the department of Tolima which comes to us from a group of 49 smallholder producers who consistently produce high quality coffees and are always looking for ways to improve.

The region of Tolima is well known for incredible altitude, steep terrain and deep valleys which create incredible conditions for coffee production with distinct microclimates and an abundant water supply. Rioblanco is a river that runs between these mountains and the coffee growing there is consistently subjected to gentle winds which circulate up from the river through the trees and up the mountain. Las Brisas is the Spanish word for ‘Breeze’ which refers to the sometimes blustery conditions in this growing region. This coffee is wholly shade grown on smallholdings that vary in size but average around 5 hectares. Coffee grows amongst plantain, Chachafruto, Guamo and Nogal trees which provide ample shade and encourage both a diverse ecology and the slow ripening of the coffee cherries which results in this deliciously characterful cup. It is a sweet and balanced partner to the fruity Rwandan bringing depth and good anchorage to the blend.

Delivery Details

We are happy to say we are now able to dispatch orders on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. If your order is received before midnight, it should go out to you the next day using the Royal Mail First Class or DPD next day courier service depending on the weight of the parcel. If you place an order over the weekend, it will be packed and dispatched when the Roastery re-opens on a Monday.

If you have selected the Local Pickup option, this will be available the next day from our Roastery premises in Armley and this site is strictly staffed between Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm. Unfortunately we cannot deliver your order to a local customer for you to collect from.

Once you have placed your order, you will receive an email to confirm it is being processed and then another one to let you know when it has been dispatched/is ready to collect.
