Visit the shop to be in with a chance of winning our lucky star competition

After an incredible month spent gathering support for our Kickstarter campaign (which we still can’t believe worked!) our new roaster is only a few weeks away from coming home to our unit in Meanwood.
This marks a real turning point for us at North Star and we can’t wait to add to our range with some real beauties. We are also looking forward to seeing how the quality of our coffee improves further. The Giesen roaster is very different to good old Roxanne in the way it roasts and we are impatient to get it settled in.
Along with a change in our operation, we are sad (but also happy) to announce that Ellis has decided to set off on his travels to see the world. He has been a fantastic asset to our business from the start and has been instrumental in setting up our offer on barista training. I am sure many of you have enjoyed working side by side with him in an effort to learn more about the art of espresso brewing, and will join us in wishing him all the best for his new adventure!
We therefore wanted to take this opportunity to introduce the newest member of our team – Holly (Hols) Bowman. Hols has spent the past two and a half years working at our importers, Falcon Specialty. She played an active role there in sourcing many of the coffees we feature in our range and has had the opportunity to travel extensively at origin, visiting many of the farms and cooperatives we work with. Alongside this, she is also a qualified Q Grader taster so we are really looking forward to having her on board and feel North Star has a very bright future going forward.
As always, thanks to all of you for your continued support, we never fail to be taken aback at the growing interest and passion for great coffee and we look forward to continuing up this road together!
