Last weekend saw the first ever Northern speciality coffee festival taking place in our neighbouring city of Manchester and what a success it was! Some of the country’s best roasters came together to celebrate the growing speciality coffee scene that is developing in the North. Taking place in Salford’s ‘Artworks’, coffee enthusiasts from all over the country attended the two day coffee party enjoying numerous (and perhaps too many?!) espresso’s as well as some fantastic street food from the likes of Yakumama, Mumma Schnitzel, Noisette Bakehouse and HAY – needless to say, the constant supply of caffeine created an interesting vibe at the event which carried on well into the early hours!
It was fantastic to spend time amongst coffee friends and fellow roasters and to play a part in what was such a successful event. Ellis and I really enjoyed speaking to the general public of Manchester and surrounding areas who had given up their weekend to celebrate coffee and learn more about it. This is what we are all about at North Star and we love working with the other fantastic roasters in the North to drive quality and provide coffee we can shout about. We were also able to launch our new packaging and logo this weekend and were really pleased with the feedback we received. We both feel this new look captures our business perfectly with more of an emphasis on the heroes behind the coffee we provide – the incredible farms and cooperatives we buy from around the world.
Massive thanks and high fives to Hannah and Ricardo for organising such an awesome coffee event! Same again next year?!
